Materra Winery (a rough translation of Mother Earth in Latin) is not only the name of the wine but also represents the family’s commitment to finding the best soils, climates and water, nurturing these elements and embracing and enhancing Mother Earth’s gifts to produce some of the highest quality grapes and wines from the Oak Knoll district in Napa Valley. The vines are farmed using environmentally sustainable methods and the production, storage and hospitality facilities on the property are all being designed in conjunction with the family’s commitment to producing the highest quality wines with the smallest possible impact on the environment.
